II Corinthians 4:5

At the Annual meeting the other night Steven Parker (the speaker) asked the question:

Why do we do it?

Meaning why do we give up our time to serve the way we do? Why do we miss other events to teach Sunday School, Preach three times a week, go to deacon's meetings, and do community events like Christmas Village?

Paul had the answer;

II Corinthians 4:5

5For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.

We don't do it for our sake, but we as bond-servants proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord!!! Bam! Now the question is are we proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord? Are we taking the gospel to those who need it? Or are we just sitting back in our comfy pews surrounded by our comfy friends doing what we have always done? I encourage you to get out this week and invite one person to church, talk to one person about Christ, find someone that you don't know and make a new friend. We can do it because He asked us to, but we can also do it because He has given us the power to.
